01 · Overview

The open M

In 1997 M GmbH transplanted the S50B32 from the M3 E36 into the Z3: 321 PS in a 1,350-kilo Roadster, along with a widened track, dedicated bumpers, four-pipe exhaust and the characteristic chrome gills. From 2001, as in the Coupé, the S54 with 325 PS took over.

The M Roadster was the counterpart to the gentle series Z3 — and today is the most affordable entry into an open six-cylinder M.
