The fine farewell
At the end of the model line, BMW introduced refined editions of the 635 CSi: in Europe as the Highline with full leather trim extending to the headliner and trim panels, in North America in 1987 as the L6 — the en-Wikipedia describes it literally as a “luxury edition” with leather headliner and automatic transmission.
We have not yet found reliable production numbers for the European Highline — we will add them once two independent sources are available. Until then: check the specification documentation, not every full-leather 6 Series is a genuine Highline.
