Product placement as an event
In November 1995, James Bond drove a BMW for the first time in “GoldenEye” — a Z3, still ahead of its market launch. The coup worked: to mark the premiere, BMW released a limited 007 Edition through the US luxury department store catalogue of Neiman Marcus, which sold out within days.
The edition was based on the Z3 1.9 in Atlanta Blue with special equipment and numbered identification. The production run is predominantly cited as 100 — originally only 20 were planned, but demand exceeded expectations. There is no official BMW figure, so we present it as handed-down information.

Almost all vehicles remained in the USA. When buying, request proof of the edition — ordinary 1.9s in Atlanta Blue are often passed off as the edition.
