The loud brother of the M5
The M535i inverted the M5 recipe: instead of the M1 engine, it received the proven M30 with 218 PS — but came with M-Technic suspension, spoiler package, sports seats and M stripes. Whoever wanted to show what they drove chose the M535i; whoever wanted to know, chose the M5.
Today it is often mistaken for the M5 — a look at the engine and chassis number brings clarity. As a model in its own right, it has long since become a sought-after youngtimer itself.
