The sensible sports car
With the 2000 facelift model year, the M54B30 arrived in the Z3: three litres, 231 PS — as a Roadster and as the rarer 3.0i Coupé. This brought the civilian Z3 noticeably closer to the M Roadster, at considerably more relaxed running costs.
The 3.0i Coupé is today an insider tip: the bread-box body without the M price tag.
