The driver's 02
„tii” stood for Touring International Injection — what remains is the shorthand for the best naturally aspirated 02: Kugelfischer swash-plate pump, mechanical injection, 130 PS and a top speed of 185 km/h. No other 02 combined everyday usability and driving fun so convincingly.
38,703 examples were built from 1971 to 1975 — enough to establish the legend, few enough to make it expensive today. For many, the tii is the very embodiment of the classic BMW.
